FETICO 2025 A/W

Japanese fashion label FETICO, led by designer Emi Funayama, unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection on the opening day of Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO 2025 A/W, held on March 17th at Dance Hall New Century near JR Uguisudani Station in Tokyo.

Titled "Queen of Curves," the collection pays tribute to 1950s American icon Bettie Page, known for her work as a bondage and pin-up model and her lasting impact on pop culture. Funayama drew from Page’s fearless persona and the photobook Queen of Curves by photographer Bunny Yeager, which captures Page’s confident self-expression and sensuality. A particular image of Page in a leopard-print dress posing between two leopards evoked Funayama’s own memory of purchasing a leopard coat as a student in London. This connection inspired the inclusion of leopard print for the first time in the brand’s history.

The collection also looked to the golden age of 1950s haute couture, a period defined by legendary designers like Christian Dior, Cristóbal Balenciaga, and Pierre Balmain. That influence was evident in FETICO’s structured fit-and-flare silhouettes, refined with vintage sensibilities and classical detailing. Funayama intentionally reduced FETICO’s signature skin-baring details this season, focusing instead on highlighting the body through cut, structure, and texture.

The collection’s color palette blended monochromes with bold accents of burgundy, pink, and khaki. Statement patterns like leopard print were paired with classic materials such as herringbone, glen plaid, and velvet. Pieces like coats, dresses, and cardigans were finished with leather belts, referencing bondage motifs in a more sophisticated and wearable context.

FETICO also introduced several new silhouettes and accessories this season, including the brand’s first trench coat, long boots with belted detailing, and cross-strap pumps. Accessories were rich with 1950s influence, from two-way lamb leather gloves and leather harnesses to scarf-accented hats, garter-patterned fishnet tights, and freshwater pearl necklaces

Reinforcing the brand’s roots in lingerie-inspired fashion, FETICO reintroduced its signature cup-lined camisole, alongside slip dresses and baby-doll blouses crafted in powder-pink georgette and jacquard lace from Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture
